Internships are available for bachelors-level students interested in exploring case management opportunities in various departments at Northwestern Community Services Board. Internship opportunities are available in the Agency’s adult mental health program, children, youth, and family services program, psychosocial rehabilitation program, and intellectual and developmental disabilities program.
Case management positions are typically responsible for managing an assigned caseload of individuals seeking mental health, behavioral health, and/or substance use disorder services. A case manager at Northwestern Community Services Board is responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing service plans and working with other community resources to meet client service needs and provide quality care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Shadow and observe case management personnel.
- Attend staff meetings, supervision appointments, and service coordination activities.
- Provide ongoing support alongside case management personnel during face-to-face reviews.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- May be exposed to allergenic environments in client’s homes, including extreme heat, humidity, dust, smoke, pet contamination, cleaning supplies, etc.
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time to visit clients as needed.
- Must be able to walk distances, climb and descend stairs, maneuver in and out of agency vehicles.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds at a time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor-level student in an accredited program.
- Interest in Case Management/Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) opportunities.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and the ability to provide own transportation.
